Curriculum Guides
The following documents provide a full list of the thematic vocabulary presented for each grade level (in Spanish and English) as well as the "Can-Do" goals for each unit.
As our focus is on developing oracy (speaking and listening skills), students are not expected to memorize all vocabulary; rather, they use the vocabulary as a tool to help them communicate about a given topic. As is true in many cultures, vocabulary and speaking practices vary within the Spanish-speaking world. In the documents below, you will find some of the vocabulary and learning goals that have been presented to students in class.
Also, please note that these documents are cumulative across grade groups (K-2 and 3-5). That is, vocabulary introduced in Grade 1 will still be included along with new vocabulary in the Grade 2 curriculum, and vocabulary learned in Grade 3 will still be included along with new vocabulary in Grade 4.
