Each day in Spanish class, K-2 students start class by reviewing the calendar, including the days of the week, date, month, and season and also discuss the weather. In Kindergarten, students do this with significant support from the teacher, but by 2nd grade, students are ready to lead the warm-up themselves, with a new student chosen each Friday to trade places with Profe for a few minutes!
This simple vocabulary is easy to practice with your student in every day conversation. If you are new to Spanish yourself, ask your student to teach you the words and movements for the days of the week and weather words, or if you are already familiar with them, try using them in everyday conversation with your child! You can find the full list of calendar and weather related vocabulary and goals for each grade level in the Curriculum Guides tab on the menu to the left.
